An Atmoshpere of Hope

The word “atmosphere” means a prevailing or surrounding influence of spirit, a general mood or environment.

Atmospheres have the ability to effect the mind, will, emotions, and spirit.  Atmospheres help to shift, change, and shape situations and even lives.  According to Scripture, there is an unseen realm with felt powers, both positive and negative, good and evil.  (Ephesians 6:12; Hebrews 11:27)

People of hope realize that our atmospheres can be positively effected by the power of positive expectancy.  For the Child of God, that hope and expectancy is found in our living relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

There are a number of atmospheres that can be created by people of hope.

1.  An Atmosphere of Breakthrough:  No hindrances!  An atmosphere of total release and answered prayer!

Luke 10:19 -I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy.  NLT

2.  An Atmosphere of Expectancy:  Hope is confident expectation, based on the nature and character of God.  No boredom here.  Full of expectancy!

Psalms 62:5 -My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.  KJV

3.  An Atmosphere of Uncommon Discovery: He’s not an ordinary God!  He’s ever revealing Himself in surprising ways!

Jeremiah 33:3 -Call to me, and I will answer you. I will tell you great and mysterious things that you do not know. GWT

4.  An Atmosphere of Faith:  No limitations are found here.

1 Corinthians 12:25 -This makes for harmony among the members, so that all the members care for each other. NLT

5.  An Atmosphere That Values People:  People matter.  People are important.  Not titles, not programs, not cool church, but PEOPLE!

1 Corinthians 12:25 -This makes for harmony among the members, so that all the members care for each other. NLT

6.  An Atmosphere of Victory:  No person is defeated, but all walk in the VICTORY that Christ Jesus has already accomplished!

1 Corinthians 15:57 -But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. ESV

7.  An Atmosphere of Reaching Our Region:  Hope goes beyond all walls.  We move forward, aggressive to share His Hopes.

2 Corinthians 10:16 -Then we will be able to go and preach the Good News in other places far beyond you…. NLT

8.  An Atmosphere of Provision:  We know that God is good and He desires to bless  and abundantly provide for His Kingdom.

Psalms 132:15 -I will bless this city and make it prosperous; I will satisfy its poor with food. NLT

9.  An Atmosphere of Prayer:  There is constant heart-felt communion with God.  Prayer is a two-way conversation.  The Voice of God is clear.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray continually. NIV

10. An Atmosphere of a Hope-Filled Future:  No gloom and doom here. We know that God is Conqueror and Victor!

Jeremiah 31:17 -Your future is filled with hope, declares the LORD. GWT

11. An Atmosphere of Purpose:  Vision is progressive.  Vision is clear.  We see Him Who is Invisible and we see the invisible.

Ephesians 1:18 -I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called–his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance. NLT

12.  An Atmosphere of Worship:  We are devoted to our Lord Jesus.  We give our lives as a living sacrifice, a spiritual act of worship.

Romans 12:1 -I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. ESV
